Hello

“I’m Richard Grehalva.

Let me speak to you man to man.

You’ve built something. You carry responsibility. People depend on you.

But something’s not working the way it should.

I’ve worked with men in leadership for over 30 years—from the boardroom to deep transformational work.

And here’s what I’ve learned:

Leadership doesn’t break down because you don’t know what to do.

It breaks down under pressure.

That’s what I help men change.

My Story

I didn’t set out to create a leadership model.
Hollow Bone Leadership emerged the same way wisdom always has—through apprenticeship, mistakes, and lived experience.
Early in my life, I spent a full year in a training called Accelerated Behavior Change, learning how people actually transform—not in a weekend, not through information, but through reflection, practice, and reinforcement. That experience shaped everything I came to believe about learning.
Over time, I studied behavior and communication with many mentors, including advanced work in the Language and Behavior Model, where I learned that how people speak reveals how they think, decide, and relate under pressure.
The greatest learning came from working with over 1250 men in their deepest transformation on personal development weekend retreats with the ManKind Project as a leader and former board member.
But the deepest teaching didn’t come from classrooms.
It came from my father, Greywolf, and the Native American wisdom he carried—particularly the teaching of Hollow Bone medicine. The hollow bone is a metaphor for leadership: when you are full of ego, urgency, or control, nothing moves through you. When you are empty enough, wisdom does.
Later, as a CEO working with boards and senior executives, I saw the same truth play out in modern organizations. The leaders who stood out weren’t the smartest or the loudest. They were the most regulated, the most present, and the most trustworthy.
That’s when it became clear: leadership isn’t about force.
It’s about becoming the kind of person others can hear—and want to follow.
That is the essence of Hollow Bone Leadership.
